The ceiling microphone upgrade project was a project to add voice lift capability to the sound system in the Lower Level Conference Room. It was completed in the Summer of 2018. The functionality was expected in the 2017 A/V upgrade project but not delivered due to misunderstandings by AdTech. To add voice lift capability, the existing ceiling microphones were zoned in a mix-minus setup. Due to obstructions above the ceiling, the additional two microphones and speakers were not installed. The scope of the project was changed, and the additional JBL speakers were returned. AdTech refused to accept the Lab Gruppen, because it cannot be resold.

Equipment

The Extron XPA 2001 amplifier has been replaced with an 8-channel Lab Gruppen C10:8X. The larger amplifier was needed for the individual speaker zones. The speakers in the back of the room will be zoned as one. Six existing microphones and speakers were left in place. Two more of each are planned for installation.
