2019 seminar room upgrade project
In spring 2019, the input panel in Goldman Room began experiencing display problems, namely pink snow and intermittent signal loss. Peter Stevens created a service ticket with AdTech, who installed the equipment, and Clarence Martin was dispatched. Martin determined that the input panel was the point of failure. He asked April Roland to send a quote for a new input panel. The panel was discontinued, so only refurbished models were available.
A week later, the VGA input in Hoffmann Room lost green channel signal, causing the image to turn violet. The equipment was installed in 2013, according to Elizabeth Johnson. Stevens decided to begin an upgrade conversation with AdTech. On September 18, Stevens met with Johnson and John Pioccone to discuss equipment upgrades in Goldman, Hoffmann, and Giedrojc Gallery. The meeting focused on upgrading only the transmitter, receiver, input panel, and source control panel. CES will upgrade the projectors later in the devices' life cycles. For futureproofness, Pioccone suggested including a scaling receiver to accommodate future models of projectors. The project will not include upgrading the speakers or amplifiers.
