The Christmas lights consist of three series of lights originating from two wall outlets. Outlet 1 is located on the second floor near the base of the flight of stairs that goes to the mezzanine. The outlet 2 is on the west wall of the mezzanine, near the wireless access point. Series 1 is a single 24' strand extending down the banister of the first flight of stairs. It is plugged into outlet 1. Series 2 runs around the second-floor banister. It is made up of two 24' strands connected to outlet 1. Series 3 begins at outlet 2, follows the banister to the flight of stairs to the third floor, up the stairs, and around the third floor banister.

  1. Run an extension cord from outlet 1 to the banister overlooking the atrium.
  2. Beginning from the base of the first floor stair case, loop one 24' strand over and under the top rail (not the hand rail), one loop per baluster. Make sure to begin with the female electrical outlet at the end. Otherwise, you will not be able to plug it in, and will have to undo the entire strand and rewrap it.
  3. Repeat over the looped strand multiple times, tightening the strand to get maximum length.
  4. Beginning near office 201, loop a 24' strand in the same manner. When the first 24' runs out, plug in another 24' and continue. Tie the connected ends to prevent separation. Loop the strand a couple times to avoid a lightless length at the strand joints.
  5. Once series 1 and series 2 are brought to a meeting point, line up the extension cord and tape it down on the carpet.
  6. Plug in series 1 and series 2.
  7. Beginning by office 301, loop a 24' strand, moving toward the stairs. Continue with two more 24' strands and two 13' strands, down the staircase and the mezzanine rail.
  8. Do a cool pose on the mezzanine.
