In September of 2022, CES reached out to Imarc about updating the current CES website built on CraftCMS 2.6. This is in response to Shotgun Flat ending contact with CES.
Project Phases
[edit | edit source]- Phase 1: Audit CraftCMS and server environment to determine what work needs to be done
- Goal: Upgrade CraftCMS to version 3.0 or better, with an eventual upgrade to 4.0.
- Timeframe: February 6 to March 6
- Deliverables: Recommendations and next steps
- Completed and Delivered
- Phase 2: Upgrade CraftCMS; discuss new options for hosting and site maintenance; code repository
- Rough outline: Imarc is creating a server on their hosting environment ($200 a month), along with a git repository. They will then start at Craft 2 and transfer over the database and files, then upgrade to Craft 3 with a look towards 4. New plugins will also be installed to coincide with the version upgrade, listed below. Digital signage has been included in this phase.

- Phase 3: Develop new features for site
- Wishlist: Constant Contact integration; Form for faculty to submit pending events to calendar (and Airtable integration)
- Current work: Update signage; improve thumbnail quality; reassess database; provide directions on Elsewhere locations.
