'''list of PC deployment steps''' 1.Have Windows Pro ISO ready (Usually 64 bit) -Previous PC users are encouraged to backup their own Files and documents that they think they might need (Double check that they have) 2.Select USB (or DVD copy) to boot up Windows ISO- Only when deploying incoming Fellows machines- New PC's usually come with pre installed OS's -Select custom install (Wipes Hard Drive complely) -The intall will take a couple minutes -It will redirect you to a windows boot where a screen will appear requesting your machine's product key (located on the tower itself) 3.once PC boots up(after setting image) -set PC user name(Always set CES-IT as Administrator, then create the user account to whom you are deploying the PC to) install only windows required programs, time zone, and languague 4. Install required drivers -Network driver to be able to get ethernet connection(register PC mac address to autoreg) -After connected to network, Set up other necessary drivers from dell.com/support (a lot of these require a syystem restart) 5.Install all necesssary applications for the user -Landesk(on box.com -Run as an administrator and perform security scan before attempting to download anything) -Chrome, firefox, MS suite(if it doesnt come included), Adobe suite/programs(Get it off Landesk portal),Filemaker(Get it off box.com) 6. Set up antivirus -Get it off landesk portal or box software (ESET) -Set up network printers for user 7.Back up(staff or faculty's) files from their previous comp uter and restore in new one -Have them put their credentials in for any applciation that requires it (box,outlook,etc) -Reset user password to something of their choice 8.Add printer driver and set network printer/s
