2008 A/V upgrade project

The 2008 A/V upgrade project was a project to revamp the A/V systems in the Lower Level Conference Room. It included Polycom teleconferencing features at Trisha Craig's request, which were expected to allow CES to widen the pool of speakers, given that they would not need to travel for the event. Matt Fionda prepared the proposal. James Welsh was the project engineer. John Pioccone was the project manager.

Among the new equipment installed were three Vaddio PTZ cameras, a ceiling-mounted projector, a projection screen, side monitors, a lectern, and gooseneck microphones.

The setup was later modified by Amir Mikhak and Paul Dzus to incorporate Mixed Berries for live audio mixing. This required a tech to be at the station for most live events, as feedback was likely to occur if more than two microphones were hot at the same time. This caused occasional audio dropouts due to panel members speaking before the tech could raise the volume.
